Effective 14 June 2026

Tazama.live is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under the Uganda Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019 (PDPA).

1. Who We Are

Tazama.live is a pay-per-view live streaming platform operated from Uganda. For the purposes of the PDPA, we are the data controller for personal data collected through this platform. You can reach us at support@tazama.live.

2. Data We Collect

When you buy a ticket

  • Full name
  • Phone number (used for Mobile Money and ticket delivery via WhatsApp/SMS)
  • Email address (optional — used for email ticket delivery)
  • Payment reference data (transaction IDs from Pesapal — we do not store card numbers or Mobile Money PINs)
  • Amount paid, event purchased, and number of tickets

When you watch a stream

  • IP address and device fingerprint (used to enforce one active session per ticket)
  • Session start time, last activity timestamp, and whether the session is active
  • Ticket code used and event accessed

When you create an account (optional)

  • Name, email, and phone as provided to Clerk (our authentication provider)
  • Account creation date and authentication events

Automatically collected

  • Error and performance data via Sentry (anonymised stack traces, request paths)
  • Standard server logs (IP, browser, timestamp) retained for up to 30 days

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Deliver tickets — send your ticket code via WhatsApp, SMS, or email after a confirmed payment.
  • Process payments — pass the minimum required data to Pesapal to complete your Mobile Money or card transaction.
  • Gate stream access — validate your ticket code and enforce the one-session-per-ticket rule.
  • Customer support — use your contact details to respond to queries and resend missing tickets.
  • Event reminders — send a WhatsApp or SMS reminder before an event you have purchased a ticket for. You can opt out by contacting support.
  • Platform integrity — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised sharing of ticket codes.
  • Error monitoring — diagnose technical failures to improve platform reliability.

4. Who We Share Data With

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the third-party services required to run the platform:

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Clerk sets a session cookie to keep you logged into your account. Clerk's authentication cookies are strictly necessary and cannot be opted out of while using a signed-in account.
